About Mike Sledz

My name is Mike Sledziona, but nobody can pronounce that, so since I can remember people have called me Mike Sledz. I was born and raised in Arizona and started tattooing in 2012. In 2016 I moved to Chicago to learn more about tattooing. I wanted to be the best tattoo artist in the world. I wanted to be featured in magazines and travel the world, and for nearly a decade I chased what I thought was the ultimate success story: Money, Talent, and Notoriety. Now I look back on these things and realize that nothing about that story represents who I am today. To be honest no matter how much money I made or how many likes and followers I got on sociaI media, none of it brought me any closer to happiness. So now the reason I tattoo is simple. I want to create artwork that challenges me, and I want to connect with interesting people from all walks of life. I’m not here to be an Ink Master or make millions of dollars. I just want to do the best work I can and meet some cool people along the way.
